Prayer Request

Sorry it's been so long since I've written. There is so much to share with you, there just hasn't been any time to sit down and put it on the screen! Kenol and I are doing great, the boys are here and LOVING life on campus. I was shocked today to find out that they already know all the Hope House kids names. I knew they knew all the kids their age, but 3 of the teenage boys popped in this evening and they knew them too. They're having so much fun playing with all their buddies and are in LOVE with Katie Anderson, the Activities coordinator at the orphanage. All three of them have major crushes on her!

I've been adjusting to life as in instant full time mom. It's been way  more of an adjustment than I ever imagined. The most shocking part of it  all is how the boys moving in full time has affected the Hope House  kids. They're having to adjust to sharing my attention and it has been  quite the challenge for everyone.  We've also been experiencing some  major issues with our teenage boys. We have two men working with the 16  boys we have between 12 and 18, who have been doing a great job but are  feeling very discouraged by the boys' behaviour. To be honest I feel like  all the orphanage staff is feeling overwhelmed and discouraged lately,  including myself. Raising 65 children is a HUGE challenge, especially  when we have so many teenagers who have very strong personalities.

Its not all negative though, we have a number of children working with teams as  interpreters this summer and another group who volunteer every morning to work with  the kids at VBS. We have heard so many great reports about them and all  they are doing. We also recently painted the kitchen even brighter pink  than it already was! It looks so good!! We had the kids help with the prep, painting and  clean up! It was a great day and the girls were so proud of their clean  up job at the end of the day.

Please lift the orphanage up in your prayers. Please pray especially for  our staff as they work night and day with the children and are feeling  overwhelmed by the responsibility and discouraged as well. Please pray  for our children as they adjust to our family being together here on  campus. Please pray for me as well as it has been incredibly challenging  to give attention to everyone who needs some, as well as juggling work,  motherhood with our 3 as well as the other 65 children we are raising,  and all the other responsibilities that come along with running an  orphanage and being a wife. And please pray that the children who are  causing issues would have a change of attitude and that we would see  major changes in the next few days.

We greatly appreciate your love and support, through the good times and the bad ones.

Peace, love and prayers needed!

Rachel and Kenol
