A girl and a letter

I love Christella, I really do. From the first time I met her, almost 10 years ago now, she has always been a special child to me. Her cute smile, her quiet voice, her sweet/sassy personality, her willingness to follow me anywhere and help with anything. There is a special place for her beautiful face in my heart, for sure.

The other day Christella was hanging out in my office and out of no where she said, "I still have the letter you wrote me." She then told me she has had it for more than a year now and keeps it safe in her photo album. I remember the letter, it was a small card I wrote to her for fun. The kids are always writing me letters and drawing me pictures, (which I absolutely love, and treasure) so one day I decided to write them back.  Little did I know that little card I wrote would mean so much.

The things that matter most in this life are almost always the little things. A hug, a phone call, a picture, an email, a card, just letting someone know you are thinking about them, and that you care. I had no idea when I wrote her that letter that the 5 minutes I took to write her would be something she treasured for over a year already!

When I got home yesterday I found some note cards and wrote her again, as well as a few other children. The smiles on their faces last night when I handed them each their letter has inspired me to keep on writing, and encourage you to, too!

Why not take a moment today and send an old friend some good old fashion snail mail? I guarantee you it will bring a smile to their faces and you'll probably have fun writing them too.

Peace, love and snail mail!

  1. Thanks... I did that this week. I wrote to a friend who isn't on a computer, but her mother told me she needed encouragement. I jokingly say 'if it needs a stamp, I probably won't get to it'...I need to stop saying that!!! But for you... I'll get on this and say I care about you! Praying you have a wonderful week....Love you...BL
