Rain, rain go away!
I want to live a life that matters. I don’t want to waste it.
There is a Dave Matthews song that says, “I can’t believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have done.” I love that song.
When I reach the end of my life I don’t want to look back and think about the things I should have done, things I would have done or things I could have done. At the end of my life I want to look back and think, “I wouldn’t have changed a thing! It was hard at times, but it was worth it!”
There are always a million reasons NOT to do things and sometimes only a handful of reasons TO DO them, especially things that aren’t easy, but it’s the hard things that really make life worth living.
Do I like earthquakes? No, absolutely not, but I am thankful I was here to experience it, to live through it and to support my Haitian brothers and sisters during this time of extreme need!
After a wonderful week away and a few days shared in Haiti with my sister I am jumping back in.
Please keep Haiti in your prayers. Their struggles are far from over. Rainy season is upon us, it poured rain all night last night and most of the day today. There are hundreds of thousands of people living in make-shift tents all over the country, tents made of sticks and sheets. Tents that are far from waterproof.
Peace, love and prayers for a very dry rainy season,
Rachel
